Crazy for Cranberry Smoothies

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

We had a rather non-traditional Thanksgiving. I made lasagna. But before we made the decision to go rouge on a turkey dinner, I had already purchased a huge bag of cranberries for our traditional cranberry orange garnish (which by the way is amazing and amazingly simple. I gotta post that someday soon). In an effort to use up said cranberries, I've been busy working on an awesome holiday cranberry, pecan bread. I've also been enjoying a flavorful twist on my morning smoothie. If you like tart with a side of sweet you'll enjoy this burst of flavor in your morning routine. Plus, cranberries are rich with antioxidants and high in fiber providing some serious health benefits. Best of all, raw cranberries as used in this smoothie, are the most nutritious variation of the fruit.

Ingredients

(below amounts make one serving)

  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/2 orange, peeled

  • 1/4 cup oat milk

  • 1/4 cup ice

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

  • A scoop of protein powder (optional)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in your trusty blender or food processor. We love our Ninja! Especially because it came with individual blender cups for easy one person smoothies like this.

  2. There is no step two. That's it. You can add other supplements or more oat milk/ice for the desired consistency.
